Picture this......you just got home from work, cleaning up the house and working on dinner. In your spare 5 minutes you think to get online check your bills and make sure all of your homework assignments were submitted correctly. STRESS!!! That is all I can say I had had it. A long day at work, had to stop and grab some groceries, the house was a mess, bills needed to be paid, and homework was due!! I got something on the stove started dinner, got on the computer to do bills and homework. Out of the blue here comes my darling daughter with q-tips in her ears. She was laughing so hard because of how silly she looked with them just hanging out of her ears like that. Wow!! so I take a breath, and think about how lucky I am!!!
Even though life comes at us full force, it is so nice that such a small little girl, with such a little silly act, can bring a smile to your face! We laughed and grabbed a couple of pics, calmed down and figured everything would work out, just do one thing at a time.

Family Reunion

The Grange Brothers always have the family reunion at Strawberry, the 3rd weekend of July. This was perfect timing this year, because we had only been out camping one other time. This is really rare for us, but it has just been a crazy year. Anyway this was the first year that Alyssa was able to play with the cousins and really enjoy herself at the reunion. Here are a couple of pics that I took. I was not very good with the camera this time, sorry there are not more photos.

These are pics of Alyssa counting her money. Every year we have the same game for the kids. We get sawdust, and put change in it. The kids then have to dig through it to find all the money. This comes in really handy since next we have a kids raffle that they can buy tickets for and put them in to win there favorite prize. Alyssa wanted a sand set that Grandma had brought so bad. Needless to say she must have her mothers luck, because even though we put 10 tickets to 2 in the bucket; Alyssa's name didn't get pulled. I knew we should of had Dad doing the tickets.

So Saturday was the big reunion day ( we went up Friday night and camped til Sunday). Anyway, there are a lot of games, food and fun. Alyssa had had her share. I was going to go in and get some dishes done in the trailer. Alyssa wanted to stay out and play. Shane's cousin offered to keep an eye on her for me. Well after I got the dishes done, and things pick up in the trailer I came out to find my daughter full on in a big dirt pile. And she was loving every minute of it. Needless to say, she was SO TIRED!! I let her play for a little longer then was going to take her in for a bath and jammies. Thought I better get some good, dirty pics before we washed her clean though. You can tell she has had it and was not in the mood for photos.

Princess Dress

So, ok she is definitely a girly girl!! Lately all that Alyssa will wear is dresses. This is a little problem, when she has no dresses to choose from. What do you expect? You that know me well know that I'm not a girly girl. I myself only have one dress in my closet. So to have such a sweet little girl that wants to wear nothing but dresses has given me a run for my money. One morning, me and my good friend Dawn were having coffee, Lyss had been awake and decided to get dressed. Well here she comes out in one of my tank tops tied up to fit her, pretending that it was the prettiest dress she had ever owned.
I don't know if Dawn felt bad for Lyss for having to make her own dresses, or just loved her so much that she wanted to do something special for her. But a week or so later she came by with this princess dress. Alyssa was so excited, for at least a week or so, we wore nothing but the princess dress. We took a couple of pictures and wrote Dawn a thank you note for being so thoughtful. It is absolutely amazing to have such a wonderful friend. I really don't know what I would do without you Dawn THANKS!!

My daughter the gymnast, who would of thought, well me of course, my daughter can do it all. Seriously, let me tell you she does amazing, that is when she can settle down for 2 minutes and concentrate. LOL

Grandma decided to let the girls pick something to join for the summer, and she would pay. Avery was already doing gymnastics so Alyssa wanted to join her. We go every Thursday, it is a little special time with Avery and with mom. Lyss is at daycare for so many hours a day, that I really appreciate the hour or so that I get to share this with her. Who knows maybe someday we will be seeing GOLD. Until then, it sure has been fun, and a great experience for the girls.

I have never laughed so hard as I did this night. I love my daughter so very much, and I don't think that I appreciate these little moments as much as I should. I am so scared to miss out on so much, (with how busy my life is about to come), that I need to make sure that I treasure these little moments.
We play this game, I get out the camera and Lyss decided what emotion we are going to show, then we take the picture. I bet we were doing this for over an hour and just gut laughing each time we looked at our pics. She is so smart, and could come up with ideas, that I couldn't even think of. She is such an amazing little girl, and I love her so deeply.

Cupcake fun again

As you all know from previous posts one of our favorite things to do with the girls is to make cupcakes. The girls like it too, especially the frosting part. This was a lazy Saturday when we had Avery again, so we thought it would be fun to make up a quick batch. The girls got into it a little bit more this time, helping with the mixing and adding of the water and eggs. They both took turns even filling the cupcake pans (a little messy but fun). Remember the lotion incident well, this was two days later. We had just gotten home for the day. I had to stop and get some groceries so we were a little later than usual. We get in the house and Alyssa goes in her room, while I keep bringing in the groceries. Not 10 minutes later she comes out to the kitchen in only her panties and white stuff all over her. I took me a minute to decide what had happened. Little did I know that it was this bad. Two bottles of baby powder all over her and her room. If you look at the pictures and they seem cloudy it is just from the smoke the powder had left behind. You couldn't even breath in there, and when I started to vacuum it up it made the smoke worse. It had cleared out enough to finally get everything wiped down and cleaned up and Alyssa in the tub. What a mess, but her room did smell good after it.

Ok, so remember my last post of my cute, funny little 2 year old? Well WHAT happened?? We get Avery often to come over and stay when her mom and dad are working. Well this night that is what was going on. Being the good mom and Auntie that I am, I got them both in the tub and I let them play in the tub way past time. Finally I got them both out dried off, lotioned up in pj's and hair combed pretty. They were being so good just sitting in Alyssa's room watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I was in the other room, but could hear both of them talking back to the TV answering the questions Mickey was asking. After a little while I thought that I had better go and check on them and.....this is what I found.

She told me that Avery's hair was soooo dirty, she just had to wash it. Well she is washing it will a whole bottle of shea butter lotion. If you have ever used shea butter lotion you know that a little bit goes a long way. Well a lot is harder than hell to get out of a 2 year olds hair. Alyssa is also using a wet wipe to help wash it in. Wet-wipe + Lotion = sudsy mess!!

Poor Avery, she was not feeling that good that night anyway, and she just let Lyss play beauty shop with her. By the time I got her undressed to go back into the tub she had had it. As you can tell by the pic.

Here are the two little trouble makers after the second bath! How can you not just laugh after everything is cleaned up and done.

They are best little buddies though, they can be so fun and so cute when the want to be and defiantly make a huge mess really quick when they want to too. Alyssa always calls Avery "My sister Avery". They get along so well and love each other so much. I just love this picture of the two of them together. I hate to see Avery move away (only to Santaquin) but still it will be hard for Lyss (and me) not to have her over all they time.

So Alyssa is so into having her picture taken, and making funny faces. This is one of our favorite games to play. She makes a sad face, silly, mad, shy...and we look at them on the camera afterwards and laugh and laugh. I also absolutely do not mind getting fun pictures of her to share with everyone either. Especially since I haven't taken her to get her pictures taken in about a year. (I know horrible mom) It has just been so hard to find the time not to mention the money. So as I have said many times before my husband is a fisherman BASS fisherman that is!! He would rather fish than eat I think. This spring he and Derrick had a fishing tournament about every weekend from March until May. These are a couple of fish that they caught in April at one of the tournaments when they took 2nd place. They fish the US Angler's Choice North Lake Powell Division. They did so well this year that overall they took 6th place and qualified for the US Angler's Choice Western Champion. This year it is held in Lake Havasu in September, 1st and 2nd place in this both win boats and money. That would be nice! I wish them luck, there will be a lot of good fishermen to compete against. One thing is for sure though....there will be many more fishing pictures to post I'm sure.

I forget how fast they grow up. Kymber is right now at my favorite age. So chunky and cute, interested in everything and learning so fast. We don't get to see her very often but when we do I can't help taking pictures and just kissing those chubby cheeks.

Easter 2008

I know that this post is just a little late (LOL), but I have not had a minute to update my blog, so here we go...This was Easter this year. This was the first time that we let Alyssa color Easter eggs, she had so much fun, and actually didn't get color everywhere. There were a couple of broken eggs in the process, but oh well. He absolute favorite thing was hunting for the eggs. I might of went a little overboard with the eggs. She had the ones she colored to find, plus a bunch of plastic ones filled with candy and money of course. The whole day she wanted to re-hid them so she could look for them again. It took me forever to actually get the eggs and basket away from her to put them up for next year. All in all it was a fun Easter at home!

Last weekend we went up to Cole & Heathers to make cupcakes. The girls were so excited, they help mix them and put them in the pan, but could not wait until they got done cooking. We let them have full rain on decorating them. They did a pretty good job, the frosting actually made it on the cupcakes and not just in their mouths. They girls were so cute with decorating them, I think they had a blast. Good call Heather, we will have to do this again soon.

We get to have Avery over quite often, I love to watch her. Alyssa and her get along so well. They play really well together, and get in trouble really well together too. So my mom always says that I never have posts of her and the girls on the blog, for some reason I never have my camera when I am at her house. So, I had her email me some pictures so I could add them to my blog. So here we go.........

This is my new little niece Kymber. My baby brother had a baby oh man!! She was born on November 10th and only weighed in at 5lbs 12 oz. Only a couple of ounces smaller than Lyss was, but I can't remember Lyss being that small. My husband had an open bull tag this year for out by Eureka. On Sunday the 12th he got this nice 6 point. It was only about 20 minutes from home and died right by the road. Easiest elk we have ever had to get out. Shane was pretty excited, it's not everyday that you get a 6 point without drawing a big bull tag.

Sick Little Girl

So, I have been home this week with Alyssa, she has been pretty sick. It all started on Friday afternoon, she woke up from her nap with a fever. I started giving her Motrin, but throughout the night her fever stayed at around 102. I started to get pretty worried, I couldn't get it down. I had to go into work Saturday morning, so I thought that I would take her to the ER and get her checked. Her fever was still up, and she defiantly was not feeling well. The ER doc couldn't figure out what was wrong. Her throat was red so he thought that she might have strep, we did a quick strep test and it was negative. He gave her a shot of antibiotics just to be safe. I stayed at work and my mother-in-law came and took Alyssa home. That night her fever kept getting high and would only drop to 99. We had her birthday party planed for Sunday. We decided to go along with the plans figuring by then that the shot would be working.
Sunday morning, she still was not feeling well and was still pretty cranky. We could get her fever to stay around 99 for 4 or 5 hours so we thought that she would be ok for the party. Everyone came over at 2:00 and we had cake and ice cream and opened presents. You could tell that Alyssa did not feel well the whole time though. After everyone left she just wanted her blanky and the couch. She fell asleep for about 4 hours and woke back up with a fever of 102.8. We started her on the Motrin again, and decided to defiantly take her to the doctor in the morning. I called work and got coverage so we could go to the doc.
Monday morning with still a high fever and very cranky we got into the doc at 10:00. Dr. Michalek took one look at the mouth and throat and new what was wrong. She had some sort of Herpes virus in her mouth. (There is a specific name for it but I can't remember.) Her whole mouth, gums, cheeks, lips, and throat is covered with sores. The doctor said that it is extremely painful, and very contagious, so no daycare for 8-10 days! I never really want to go to work, but I have vacation planned for the next two weeks, so now this means 3 weeks without work, and really short paychecks.
We have been home this week taking it easy. I realized that I need to make sure to have a lot of patience with her. She gets so cranky because her mouth hurts so bad. We do have some Tylenol with codeine that helps with the pain some, but not much. She has been very clingy and doesn't want me away from her for to long. It has been a very long week! It's nice to be able to spend some time with Alyssa, but it sucks that she is so sick. Hopefully she will start getting better soon. Her fever is finally gone, but she still is not eating or drinking much. Her 2 year birthday is tomorrow and it is so sad that she has been so sick. I am hoping to be able to take her back to daycare Monday. Then we have to go back to the doctor to check the sores and for her 2 year immunizations on Tuesday. I think this is as sick as Alyssa has ever been, hopefully it will be over soon.

Here are pictures of Shane's cousins new little baby. Kodey and Jodie had this little sweetie in the early morning of September 5th. We were all very excited especially that it was a little girl. They didn't know what they were having, and to say the least it surprised the both of them when the doc said "It's a girl".

We are so excited for the both of them, and Alyssa can't wait to play with her new little cousin. Congratulation guys, we love you!!

I just wanted to pay tribute to my sweet little girl. I grabbed a picture of here the other day with my phone (yes, I now have a camera phone, I know it took me a while, but I'm so cool now!) Anyway, we have a half hour drive every morning and afternoon, and Alyssa is usually so good in the car! I know that she has to get sick of it, going to and from everyday. Most of the time she is so happy though, singing, playing with her toys, and always making me laugh. She was being so cute the other day, when I grabbed this pic. I just have to remember to never take these precious moments for granted. I love my little monster!!

For anyone that has ever taken more than one little kid to get pictures taken will know what I mean by this little 3 letter word.....WOW!!

I never thought that it would be that hard. Get them all dressed so cute, matching, now all that needs to be done is sit down and smile. YAH RIGHT!! It really doesn't quite work that way. Mindy and I had tried to get a picture with all three kids for about 2 hours. It was total chaos. The kids were usually good by themselves, just not so great together at the same time. Anyway here are the pics that we ended up with. I think that they did turn out pretty good for uncooperative kids!

Shane's sister and her kids came in from Missouri. This is the first time we have seen them in over 4 years and the first time the kids have met. So what does that mean.....lots of pictures. We will start with the zoo. This is the first time we have taken Alyssa, she liked it a lot.

For all of you that do not know my husband......HE LOVES TO FISH!!!! He would fish over doing anything else. He is getting really good at it also. He has been going to bass tournaments for the past two years, and has been placing pretty well in them. Last November he and his buddy took first place in the first annual turkey bowl. He was pretty excited, so I thought that I would share a couple of his pictures with all of you. I'm sure that there will be more to come.

So I know that everyone thinks their own kids are the best, smartest, cutest, ect. ect. But, sometimes I wonder where my little girl comes up with things. She will be two in September, but I think she is very advanced for her age. The other morning I was making breakfast, and couldn't find her. I went looking, and this is where I found her, in the dryer. When I asked her what she was doing in the dryer, she just looked at me with her big blue eyes and said, "Mommy it echos in here". Now I have no idea where she learned the word echo, or the meaning of it. It just blew me away, and she was pretty funny sitting in the dryer. Silly girl!!

Alyssa loves spaghetti.....as you can tell from the pictures below!! She is such an independent little girl always has to do everything by herself. Everytime we eat she always has to get her own fork, and bib. Needless to say I don't think that she uses the fork much, it must take to much time. The bib did come in handy last night, but we still had spaghetti everywhere. She had to go straight to the tub. It did make for some cute pics though, so I thought that I would share them.

WOMEN IN THE OUTDOORS WEEKEND

This was one of the funnest weekends I have had in a long time. A bunch of girls from work and my mother-in-law all went with me. We went and stayed Friday night then had classes all day Saturday. I took golf, rappelling, shotgunning and handguns. Needless to say it was a lot of fun, but a lot of work, I couldn't move for a few days after! Guess that I had better get in shape before next year. OK, everyone is doing this so I thought that it would be about time for me to start.
Let me tell everyone about us....My name is Lacey Grange and I am married to my high school sweetheart Shane Grange. We have a beautiful daughter Alyssa that will be two in September. We have been married for 8 years now, and really enjoy each other. Having Alyssa has brought a whole new meaning to life. I have been slacking on the scrap booking, so I thought I had better start at least a blog, then everyone can check in on us and see how we are doing.
